The Cruise - Embarkation

The cruise was A LOT of fun - I have a ton of pics so it'll be divided up among many many many posts.

Anyway, right after we got on our ship Carnival Conquest we took off to investigate the decks. It's HUGE compared to our last ship.

The whole ship has an Impressionist theme - which kinda works, but they morphed it into French artists. It was really fun to try to figure out who the artist was and what painting was hanging around. The big lobbby has a huge mural - there was a lot of Henri Rousseau all over (you can see two big paintings in the mural) and that made me lonesome for you. I really enjoyed our time in London and seeing that exhibit at Tate Modern.

Jonah got attacked by a Pirate when leaving the dining room!!!

When we got back (safely) from supper, there was this little guy on our bed

awwwww cher! More adventures to come tomorrow!

Family & Eggs

We went to visit MoMo at Holly Hills this morning.

NeNan, Yuvonna, Emma & Lyndie were there. We all had a nice visit.

We stopped at Chili's to tell Aunt Cheryl, Uncle Rick, Tracy, Whitney, Holly and Paxton hello!!

We drove back to Lafayette to get a very very late lunch.

Mmmmm, eggs on burgers for everyone!

We then went eat lunch at Di's.

And when we got home, Kizzle was waiting!

THAT'S a Big Bird

On Saturday 23 May Doug and I took his dad and one of his friends to San Diego Zoo. It was the opening of the new Elephant Odyssey, a huge new enclosure that houses....elephants!!! And a whole lot more, lions and condors (Californian, of course) and jaguars and turtles and snakes. Anything that once lived in SoCal (Mammoths&Mastodons=Elephants, American Lion=Lions, etc)

And because I have no idea what it was...

Doug, of course, was like yah, it's a Daggett's Eagle, duh.

How It Started

I was trying to think of a way to be more involved with Amy and show her how much I'm thinking of her. Doug and I came up with the idea within a few days of each other, independently. And here we are.
